RAID Manager version requirement
If the version of Device Manager Agent used with Replication Manager is 6.4.0 or later, HP strongly
recommends that the version of RAID Manager running on the same host as the agent be 01.17.03
or later. If an earlier version of RAID Manager is used, an error will occur that requires a property
file setting described below.
When a host that has Device Manager Agent and RAID Manager installed is restarted, device
information is updated. This update can render the configuration definition file used to identify command
devices obsolete (because values referring to pre-update device information remain unchanged). This
might make it impossible to gather pair, pool and journal information from Replication Manager.
To prevent this error, the following Device Manager Agent property needs to be specified in a
properties file (server.properties):
server.agent.rm.optimization.userHorcmFile=true
If Device Manager Agent version used is 6.4.0 or later and an appropriate RAID Manager version,
as recommended above, is used, the above error will not occur and it is not necessary to change the
agent property.
RAID Manager version and consistency group support
To create remote pairs with the CTG option, RAID Manager 01.21.03 or later must be installed on
the pair management server. If an earlier version is installed, pairs are successfully created, but they
are not members of a CT group (because the CTG option is ignored).
