HP StorageWorks P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.1 Configuration Guide (TB584-96022, May 2011)
Maximum number of resources supported
The maximum number of resources that can be managed by Replication Manager depends on the
setting specified for the memory heap size (Small, Medium, or Large). Set an appropriate memory
heap size, depending on the maximum number for each resource.
NOTE:
If you are using a Windows 32-bit environment, you cannot set “Large” as a memory heap size.
For details about how to increase the memory heap size, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Command
View Advanced Edition Software Installation and Configuration Guide.
This section discusses the following:
• Maximum number of copy pairs, page 31
• Heap size in a mixed environment, page 32
• Number of copy pairs on open systems, page 32
• Log data and number of copy pairs, page 33
• Maximum number of LDEVs, page 31
Maximum number of copy pairs
The following table shows the maximum number of copy pairs.
Table 13 Maximum number of copy pairs that can be managed
Memory heap size
Environment
LargeMediumSmall
24,00012,0006,000Open systems
90,00060,00040,000Mainframe systems
NOTE:
In consideration of response time and memory usage, the maximum number of both open and
mainframe pairs that can be operated on by the Pair Configuration Wizard at one time is 1,000.
With respect to the number of mainframe pairs, the values in the table above are the maximum
number of copy pairs that an environment containing Device Manager and Business Continuity
Manager can manage.
Maximum number of LDEVs
The maximum number of manageable LDEVs depends on the specifications of the storage systems.
The method of determining the maximum number of manageable LDEVs differs between open systems
and mainframe systems. For open systems, the maximum number of LDEVs is already set per storage
