HP StorageWorks P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.1 Configuration Guide (TB584-96022, May 2011)
If the button is not activated or the information is not displayed, refresh the storage system information.
If it cannot be updated, make sure that the system configuration and specified settings in the RAID
Manager configuration definition file are correct.
Items to be checked from the web client
In the copy pair configuration definition view, select the pair management server that manages the
existing copy pairs to make sure that information about these items are correct:
• The configuration definition file for RAID Manager that exists on the pair management server
• Copy groups that are defined in the RAID Manager configuration definition file
• Copy pairs that configure copy groups.
If the above items are not displayed correctly, refresh the configuration information for Device Manager
server. For details, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Replication Manager User Guide.
Troubleshooting replica operations
This section covers error conditions and log events that may occur and how to address them:
• Replica creation fails silently, page 113
• Backup server is not recognized as a pair management server, page 113
• Restoring a replica with roll-forward fails with error message RPM-11510, page 114
• Restoring a replica fails with event ID 454, page 114
• Creating a replica fails with error message RPM-10006, page 115
• Creating a replica fails with event IDs 17, 1 and 10010, page 115
• Disk status remains online after replica operation is complete, page 115
• Replica catalogs are not deleted, page 116
Replica creation fails silently
If replica creation fails when there is not enough disk space to create transaction log files, there may
be no error messages displayed. To delete transaction logs periodically, select the Truncate Exchange
transaction log files in the Execution Options of the Create Replica Wizard (2. the Setup Options
page). When this option is selected, transaction log files will be automatically deleted every time a
backup is performed.
Backup server is not recognized as a pair management server
If Replication Manager does not recognize the backup server as a pair management server, make
sure that the RAID Manager instance on the backup server is running before performing the following
operations:
• Executing the Setup Agent or Refresh Hosts operation
• Executing Mount Replica or Unmount Replica.
