To enable execution of the sudo command by using a general user password:
Add the definitions below. However, you cannot use the root account password.

To enable execution of the sudo command without entering a password:
Add the following definitions.

=(execution-user-name-alias)NOPASSWD:/tmp/FsDataGatherLauncher.Unix.sh
For hosts-to-be-detected, specify the IP address, host name, or ALL.
For execution-user-name-alias, specify ALL, or root.
The directories for commands that are executed during Host Data Collector processing must be
the first paths specified in the PATH environment variable.
For details on the commands that are executed as part of Host Data Collector processing, see
Appendix E on page 355.
Environment settings on normal hosts (when using Device Manager agent to manage normal
hosts)
Install a Device Manager agent on the normal hosts to which you want to allocate volumes.
NOTE:
If a normal host is managed by both Host Data Collector and the Device Manager agent, the Device
Manager agent is given priority in displaying the acquired information in the GUI and CLI.
Device Manager settings
In Device Manager, register the computers on which you want to allocate volume as normal hosts.
NOTE:
If you install Host Data Collector on a computer different from the management server, set up Host
Data Collector as indicated in Chapter 12 on page 239.
System requirements for virtual machines
The management method of Device Manager depends on the configuration of virtual machines and
HBAs. The following figure shows the system configuration of virtual machines supported by Device
Manager.
