is collected
Management server
A management server is a server in which Device Manager server version 5.9 or later is installed.
You must set the management server so that CIM/WBEM can be used. For details on how to set
up CIM/WBEM, see Basic settings required to use the CIM/WBEM features on page 139 and
Settings for ports used by CIM/WBEM features on page 141.
Host that acquires performance information
This host is required when acquiring performance information of P9500, XP24000/XP20000 or
XP12000/XP10000/SVS200. Device Manager agent version 7.0 or later is required for P9500
storage systems, and Device Manager agent version 5.9 or later is required for
XP24000/XP20000 or XP12000/XP10000/SVS200 storage systems.
We recommend that use the same computer for the management server and for the host that ac-
quires performance information. In this case, the OS for the host that acquires performance in-
formation must be able to support both Device Manager server and the Device Manager agent.
For example, if the OS for the management server is Windows XP, you cannot install the Device
Manager agent, so you cannot use this computer as the host that acquires performance information.
Even if you use different computers for the management server and for the host that acquires
performance information, the OS for the host that acquires performance information must be
Windows, or Linux.
The host that acquires performance information cannot run HP-UX or AIX.
We recommend that you use the hdvmagt_setting command to set the Device Manager agent
central management method.
Storage system
This is a storage system whose performance information is to be acquired.
