HP P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.2 Configuration Guide
4 Operating the management server
This chapter describes the Replication Manager settings and operating procedures, including how to
start and stop Replication Manager and how to back up and restore the databases.
About executing commands on the management server
This section includes information related to the execution of commands that are required for Replication
Manager operation.
User permissions
To execute the commands described in this manual, you must log in as a member of the Administrators
group .
If the User Account Control (UAC) feature is enabled (as in Windows Vista), you might be asked to
elevate your current privileges to the Administrator level. Because some commands necessary to
operate a management server require just such privileges, you should do so (unless specifically
instructed otherwise).
To elevate your privileges to the Administrator level for executing a command:
1. Right-click the Command Prompt icon.
2. From the list of context menu items, choose Run as administrator. The elevated command prompt
window opens.
Starting and stopping Replication Manager
This section describes how to start and stop Replication Manager.
Replication Manager operates as part of HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service (which is a service of
HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View AE Common Component). This means that you start and
stop Replication Manager by starting or stopping the HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View AE
Common Component services.
For more information see “Starting and stopping the Application Agent Services” on page 75.
NOTE:
Device Manager must be running for Replication Manager to operate properly.
Starting Replication Manager
To start Replication Manager, start HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View AE Common Component
by executing the following command.
