DescriptionStatusParameter name
Specify the nickname of the host storage domain.
The value specified for this parameter differs depending on
whether domain is specified.
If domain is specified:
Specify the new nickname of the host storage domain.
If domain is not specified:
Specify the nickname of the host storage domain.
You can use the following characters:
A-Z a-z 0-9 ! # $ % & ' ( ) + - . = @ [ ] ^ _ ` { } ~ and
spaces
A nickname cannot begin or end with spaces.
The character string used for a nickname must be within the
following range:
• P9500: 1-64 bytes
• XP24000/XP20000: 1-32 bytes
• XP12000/XP10000/SVS200:
Microcode version earlier than 50-04-01:
1-16 bytes
Microcode version 50-04-01 or later:
1-32 bytes
• XP1024/XP128: 1-8 bytes

New nickname of the host storage domain
Specify the name used for the host group to be created in the
storage system.
If you specify this parameter, you must also specify the domain
or nickname parameter.
If you use the HostScan command to register a host in Device
Manager, specify the host name that uses the host storage domain
for the newdomainnickname parameter. For details about the
HostScan command, see “HostScan” on page 267.
