Table Of Contents
This property file contains the translation/lookup table for all Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions
(MIME) file types recognized by the Device Manager web server. Each property in this lookup table
maps a particular extension suffix to the MIME type for that file. Under normal conditions, you do not
need to change the default values in this file. In any event, only expert system administrators should
make any additions to this file.
Device Manager client properties (client.properties file)
The client.properties file contains the client properties.
In Windows:
installation-folder-for-the-Device-Manager-server\Server\config\cli-
ent.properties
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-the-Device-Manager-server/Server/config/
client.properties
This property file contains the settings related to display and operation of Device Manager GUI.
client.rmi.port
This property specifies the port number for the Device Manager RMI server. You must specify the same
value as the one specified for the server.rmi.port property of the Device Manager server.
Default: 23055
client.migration.use.legacymode
This property specifies whether migrations that use migration groups created in version 7.1.0 or earlier
can be executed from the Tiered Storage Manager GUI.
To execute a migration that uses a migration group, specify true. Specifying true enables you to
open the window for migrations that use migration groups (Legacy mode GUI) by selecting Tools and
then Legacy Tiered Storage Manager.
If false is specified, you cannot perform migrations that use migration groups from the Tiered Storage
Manager GUI.
TIP:
In version 7.1.1 or later, you no longer have to define migration-source volumes in a migration
group before performing migrations.
Even when true is specified, migrations can still be performed by selecting Migrate Data from
the General Tasks tab or the Mobility tab, and then using the Migration Wizard to directly specify
the migration-source and migration-target volumes.
Regardless of whether true or false is specified, you can use the Tiered Storage Manager CLI
to perform migrations using migration groups.
