Prerequisites for installing Host Data Collector (Solaris or Linux)
The items that you can specify during installation of Host Data Collector, such as the installation path
and port number, have default values.
We recommend using the default values, when possible.
The table below describes the items that need to be entered during Host Data Collector installation.
If you do not want to use the default values, see the table for a list of valid values.
Table 112 Items to enter during Host Data Collector installation (Solaris or Linux)

The path to the directory in which Host Data Collector will be installed. The default
installation path is as follows.
/opt/CVXPAE/
If you do not use the default installation directory, make sure that the installation
location satisfies the following conditions:
Length of the absolute path: No more than 64 bytes
Specifiable characters:
A to Z a to z 0 to 9 . _ /
Installation path
The port number of the Web server. You cannot use 23050/tcp or 23052/tcp.
Default: 23051/tcp

To install Host Data Collector in a Solaris or Linux environment:
1. Insert the integrated installation media.
If the media is not mounted automatically, manually mount it onto the /mnt/dvdrom directory.
