• WMI is registered as an exception in the Windows Firewall settings.
• admin$ is shared over the network.
• In the Windows Firewall settings, File and Printer Sharing is registered as an exception.
When the OS of a normal host to be managed is UNIX (when information about the host is collected by using
the root account)
• SSH is enabled.
• Settings have been performed so that you can log in as root via a remote SSH login with password
authentication.
• When the OS of a normal host to be managed is AIX, the ODMDIR environment variable is set.
• The directories for commands that are executed during Host Data Collector processing must be
the first paths specified in the PATH environment variable.

NOTE:
If the root account is used to register a host into Device Manager, do not use a general user account
to register the host a second time.

• The user account used when the host is detected has been created specifically for Host Data Col-
lector (recommended).
• Settings have been specified in the PATH environment variable so that the sudo command can
be executed.

• Update permissions (rwx) are set for the /tmp directory.
• Settings have been specified in the /etc/sudoers file so that the sudo command can be executed
by using either the password of a general user or without entering any password.
• To enable execution of the sudo command by using a general user password:
