1 Minimum Firmware Versions
1.1 Overview
The tables in this document list the minimum firmware versions that are required for the correct
operation of HP XC System Software Version 4.0. HP recommends that you install the latest
released firmware version which may be newer than the versions listed in this document.
This document lists the minimum firmware versions for the following components:
• “Switches” (page 5)
• “HP BladeSystem Enclosures” (page 6)
• “Cluster Platform 3000” (page 6)
• “Cluster Platform 3000BL” (page 7)
• “Cluster Platform 4000” (page 8)
• “Cluster Platform 4000BL” (page 9)
• “Cluster Platform 6000” (page 9)
• “Interconnects” (page 10)
• “Console Port Management Devices” (page 10)
1.2 Guidelines
IMPORTANT: Read these guidelines before installing or upgrading firmware on HP XC system
components.
• Never downgrade to an older version of firmware unless you are specifically instructed to
do so by the HP XC Support Team.
• This document clearly lists newer versions of the firmware that are known to be incompatible
(that is, not backwards compatible). Incompatible versions are highlighted in bold font. Do
not install these known incompatible firmware versions because unexpected system
behavior might occur.
• There is always the possibility that a regression in functionality is introduced in a firmware
version. It is possible that the regression could cause anomalies in HP XC operation. Report
HP XC operation regressions that result from firmware upgrades to the HP XC Support
Team:

• Contact the HP XC Support Team if you are not sure what to do regarding firmware versions.

It is important that all switches are at the same firmware version.
