Switching From the OFED Software Stack To the Voltaire
Software Stack
This HowTo describes the process to switch HP XC System Software from the default OpenFabrics
Enterprise Distribution (OFED) InfiniBand software stack to the Voltaire InfiniBand software
stack.
1 Minimum Requirements
Table 1 lists the minimum requirements to accomplish this task.

The HP XC system is installed with OFED, which is the default
InfiniBand software stack.
The SFS file systems are unmounted and the SFS service is stopped
if the HP StorageWorks Scalable File System (SFS) is in use.

3 Before You Begin
Before you begin, unmount all SFS file systems and stop the SFS service as directed in the SFS
Client Installation and User Guide.

4 Applying the HowTo
Follow this procedure as the root user on the head node to uninstall the OFED InfiniBand software
stack and install the Voltaire InfiniBand software stack.
NOTE: If you have just installed HP XC System Software Version 3.2 on the head node and
you want to immediately switch to the Voltaire software stack, skip steps 1 through 4 and start
with step 5.
