Checking the license server status
If you are using a permanent LSF license, use the lmstat command to check the status
of the license server daemon. This check can tell you whether or not your attempt to
start your license server daemon succeeded. If your attempt failed, see “lmgrd fails with
message "Port already in use"” on page 200.
The
lmstat command is in LSF_SERVERDIR. For example:
/usr/share/lsf/lsf_62/6.2/sparc-sol2/etc/lmstat
Run
lmstat -a -c
LSF_LICENSE_FILE from the FLEXlm license server and also
from the LSF master host. You must use the
-c option of lmstat to specify the path
to the LSF license file.
The output of
lmstat gives the status of:
The license server daemon (lmgrd)
The LSF vendor daemon (lsf_ld)
The number of available licenses for each product in the license file
For example, depending on the LSF features installed, the output of the command
should look something like the following:
% lmstat -a -c $LSF_ENVDIR/license.dat
lmstat - Copyright (C) 1989-1997 Globetrotter Software, Inc.
