HP XC System Software Release Notes for Version 3.2.1
14 Documentation
This chapter describes known issues and omissions in the HP XC System Software Documentation
Set and HP XC manpages.
14.1 HP XC System Software Installation Guide
The notes in this section apply to the HP XC System Software Installation Guide.
The following information is missing from Chapter 6, Reinstalling HP XC System Software Version
3.2.1 for both HP Integrity and HP ProLiant hardware models:
If the client nodes were previously configured with RAID and you want to remove the RAID
configuration during the reinstallation, see Chapter 19 in the HP XC System Software Administration
Guide for the instructions to remove software RAID.
14.2 HP XC Manpages
The following new option was omitted from discover(8):
--extended This option is used in combination with the --nodesonly option to discover
the nodes in a configuration that contains double density HP BladeSystem
servers, such as the HP ProLiant BL2x220c. The --extended option is required
to correctly calculate internal node numbering when double density server
blades are present in an HP BladeSystem enclosure.
A double density server blade has two separate nodes, which affects internal
node numbering. This means that a HP BladeSystem c7000 enclosure populated
with double density server blades can have a maximum of 32 nodes per
enclosure compared to the maximum of 16 single density server blades. A c3000
enclosure populated with double density server blades can have a maximum
of 16 nodes per enclosure compared to the maximum of 8 single density server
blades.
Use this command to perform a nodes-only discovery when the hardware
configuration contains double density server blades.
# discover --enclosurebased --nodesonly --extended --verbose
