HP XC System Software Release Notes for Version 3.1
3. Create a new module dependency list, system.map:
# depmod -a
15.2.4 Missing Key Sequence
In Section 3.6.1 “Modify the Default Password for HP ProLiant DL140 and DL145 Hardware
Models” on Page 58, add the following step before step a. in the procedure shown for BMC
firmware version 1.24 or higher:
• For BMC Firmware Version 1.24 or higher:
a. Press esc and Shift+9 to enter the command-line mode.
Continue with steps a through f as documented on Page 58.
15.2.5 Incorrect Boot Command Line Option for HP ProLiant DL145 G2 Hardware
Models
With the new RHEL4 Update 3 kernel delivered in this release, you no longer have to specify
the acpi=off kernel boot parameter for HP ProLiant DL145 G2 hardware models. Without this
parameter, nodes power off when they are shut down with the stopsys utility and do not wait
for the power off time out.
Several areas in the HP XC System Software Installation Guide are affected:
• Table 2-6: remove reference to acpi=off.
• Table 2-6: the noapic option is required for DL145 G2 platforms only if InfiniBand PCI-X
cards are being used
• Table 5-6: remove reference to acpi=off.
15.3 HP XC System Software Administration Guide
The notes in this section apply to the HP XC System Software Administration Guide.
15.3.1 Syntax Error for the setnode Command
In Chapter 10.2 step 4, the syntax for the setnode command is incorrect. The correct syntax is:
# setnode --resync --all
15.3.2 Error in Using File Overrides to the Golden Image
Make the following adjustments to the procedure shown in Section 10.3.2 "Using File Overrides
to the Golden Image":
1. Reverse steps 5 and 6.
2. Add the following step after step 10:
Use the text editor of your choice to edit the /etc/systemimager/flamethrower.conf
file to add a complier stanza below the override_base_image stanza. A new compiler
override is shown in this example:
[override_base_image]
DIR = /var/lib/systemimager/overrides/base_image
[override_compiler]
DIR = /var/lib/systemimager/overrides/compiler
15.3.3 Missing Procedure to Change InfiniBand Switch Root Password
Section 13.8 is missing the procedure to change the InfiniBand switch root password. The
procedure is shown in “Change the InfiniBand Switch Root Password” (page 42) in this document.
