Info: Successful transfer of services to Serviceguard.
After services and IP aliases are shut down, each availability tool is started. Then, the availability
tool starts up the services and IP aliases it is managing.
Proceed to “Task 16: Configure SNMP Trap Destination for Enclosures”.
3.17 Task 16: Configure SNMP Trap Destination for Enclosures
Perform this task only if the hardware configuration contains HP server blade enclosures.
If the hardware configuration contains HP server blades housed in enclosures, HP recommends
that you configure the enclosures to send their SNMP traps to the management server IP alias.
After doing so, all SNMP traps are processed by the snmptrapd service and subsequently logged
to syslog by the snmptt service. The syslog-ng service logs all traps to the
/hptc_cluster/adm/log/consolidated.log file and the
/hptc_cluster/adm/logs/snmptraps.log file. This enables Nagios to generate alerts for
all enclosure traps posted with a priority of WARNING or greater.
1. Configure the enclosures to send their SNMP traps to the management server IP alias:
# manage_enclosure addtrap
enc2n-enc09USE6281BJX: Added SNMP trap receiver destination IP_address
2. Verify that the SNMP trap destination has been set correctly on the enclosures:
# manage_enclosure listtrap
enc2n-enc09USE6281BJX:
IP_address
Proceed to “Task 17: Configure SNMP Trap Destination for Modular Cooling System Devices”.
3.18 Task 17: Configure SNMP Trap Destination for Modular Cooling
System Devices
Perform this task only if the hardware configuration contains Modular Cooling System (MCS)
devices. Omit this task if MCS devices are not in use.
If the hardware configuration contains MCS devices, HP recommends that you configure the
MCS devices to send their SNMP traps to the management server IP alias. After doing so, all
SNMP traps are processed by the snmptrapd service and are subsequently logged to syslog
by the snmptt service. The syslog-ng service logs all traps to the
