G Using the cluster_config Command-Line Menu
This appendix describes how to use the configuration command-line menu that appears by the
cluster_config utility. It addresses the following topics:

G.1 Overview of the cluster_config Command-Line Menu
The following menu options are displayed when you initiate the cluster_config utility:
[L]ist Nodes, [M]odify Nodes, [A]nalyze, [H]elp, [P]roceed, [Q]uit:
Table G-1 describes each menu option. To select an option, enter the letter shown in brackets.
Entries are not case sensitive.

Displays the current system configuration.[L]ist Nodes

Verifies the current node role assignments with settings
recommended by HP. HP recommends exercising this
option every time you run the cluster_config utility,
even when you are configuring the system for the first
time.
[A]nalyze
Displays a usage statement.[H]elp
“Customize Service and Client
Configurations” (page 219)
Commits the role assignments and applies them to the
configuration and management database the first time
you select it. Then, you are prompted to customize
services contained in specific roles. The second time you
select this option, any changes you made to the default
configuration are applied to the configuration and
management database and system services are
configured.
[P]roceed
Exits the cluster_config utility without populating
the configuration and management database and
configuring services on the system.
[Q]uit
G.2 Displaying Node Configuration Information
From the command-line menu of the cluster_config utility, enter the letter l to list (display)
the current system configuration.
[L]ist Nodes, [M]odify Nodes, [A]nalyze, [H]elp, [P]roceed, [Q]uit: l
You then have the option to enter the letter b to display an abbreviated version or the letter a to
display a full version of the current system configuration. The abbreviated output provides
detailed information about the head node and summarizes similar node configurations onto one
line; the full version provides detailed configuration information about every node.
