HP XC System Software Installation Guide Version 3.2
6. Log in to the node that is running LSF if it is not running on the head node. If LSF is running
on the head node, omit this step.
# ssh n32
7. Restart the LIM daemon:
# lsadmin limrestart
Checking configuration files ...
No errors found.
Restart LIM on <lsfhost.localdomain> ...... done
Restarting the LIM daemon is required because the licensing of LSF-HPC with SLURM
occurs when the LIM daemon is started. This means that the LIM daemon will be licensed
only for processors that are actually available at that time, which might be fewer than the
total number of processors available after all of the nodes have been imaged and are up and
running.
8. Update the LSF batch system with the latest resource information reported by SLURM:
# badmin reconfig
Checking configuration files ...
No errors found.
Reconfiguration initiated
Proceed to “Task 10: Start Availability Tools After the Upgrade.”
5.11 Task 10: Start Availability Tools After the Upgrade
Perform this task only if you configured improved availability of services. Omit this task if you
did not configure availability sets.
Run the transfer_to_avail command to shut down all services and IP aliases associated
with services that will be managed by an availability tool:
# transfer_to_avail
NOTE: To avoid duplicating command output here, transfer_to_avail command output
is shown in “Task 15: Start Availability Tools”.
After shutting down all services and IP aliases, the transfer_to_avail command starts each
availability tool. Then, the availability tool starts up the services it is managing.
Proceed to “Task 11: Verify the Upgrade.”
5.12 Task 11: Verify the Upgrade
Perform all system verification tasks described in Chapter 4 (page 111) to verify that the system
is functioning properly after the upgrade.
