Appendix F Using the Configuration Menu
This appendix describes how to use the text-based cluster configuration menu that is displayed by the
cluster_config utility.
This appendix addresses the following topics:
Configuration Menu Overview (page 117)
Displaying Node Information (page 117)
Modifying Nodes (page 117)
Analyzing Current Role Assignments Against HP Recommendations (page 119)
Customizing Service and Client Configurations (page 120)
Configuration Menu Overview
The following menu options are displayed when you invoke the
/opt/hptc/config/sbin/cluster_config utility:
[L]ist Nodes, [M]odify Nodes, [A]nalyze, [H]elp, [P]roceed, [Q]uit:

Page 117Displays the current system configuration. You then have the option to display
a summarized list or a full list.
[L]ist Nodes
Page 117Provides the ability to modify node role assignments, and modify (add or
delete) external Ethernet connection to any node.
[M]odify Nodes
Page 119Verifies the current node role assignments with settings recommended by HP.
HP recommends exercising this option every time you run the
cluster_config utility, even when you are configuring your system for the
first time.
[A]nalyze
Displays a usage statement.[H]elp
Page 120Commits the role assignments and applies them to the database the first time
you select it. Then you are prompted to customize services contained in specific
roles. The second time you select this option, any changes you made to the
default configuration are applied to the database and system services are
configured.
[P]roceed
Exits the cluster_config utility without populating the system configuration
database and configuring services on your system.
