Using the Configuration Menu
This appendix describes how to use the text-based cluster configuration menu that is displayed
by the cluster_config utility.
The follow ing topics are i nclu ded in this appen dix :
An overview of the cluster_config text-based menu interface (Section I.1)
Displaying the current system configuration (Section I.2)
Modifying node configurations (Section I.3)
Adding an Ethernet connection to any node other than th e head node (Section I.3.1)

I.1 Overview
The following option s are displayed w hen the /opt/hptc/config/sbin/clus-
ter_config command is invoked:
[L]ist Nodes, [M]odify Nodes, [H]elp, [P]roceed:
To select an option, enter the corresponding letter shown in brackets; entries are not case
sensitive:
[L]ist Nodes - displays the current system configuration. You have the option to display
a summarized list or a full list.
[M]odify Nod e s - allows you to modify node role assignments, and m od ify (add or delete)
external Ethernet connection to any nod e other than the head node.
[H]elp - displays a usage statement.
[P]roceed - applies the current system configuration and begins configuring the system
services and populati ng the MySQ L system configuration database.
I.2 Displaying the Current System Configuration
Enter the letter l to list the current system configuration.
[L]ist Nodes, [M]odify Nodes, [H]elp, [P]roceed: l
Yo u have the option to enter the letter b display an abbrev iated version or th e letter a to display
full version of the current n ode configuration. The abbreviated output provides information
about the head node; the full version provides configuration informatio n about all nodes.
Output Type - a[B]breviated [A]ll [E]xit
I.3 Modifying Nodes
Enter the letter m to modify a node.
[L]ist Nodes, [M]odify Nodes, [H]elp, [P]roceed: m
Enter t he node nam e you want to modify. All operations you perform from this point are
performed on this node until you specify a different nod e name.
