6.1.1 Install and Configure the EVA3000 or EVA5000 SAN Storage Device
The EVA3000 or EVA50
00 SAN storag e device is configured through a SAN appliance that
provides a browser i
nterface for config ur ation. You do not need to install addit ion a l software on
your cluster to all
ow for the configuration of these devices . Information about the installation
and configuration
of the EVA3000 or EVA5000 is located at the following URL:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/enterprise/in-
dex.html
_________________________ Note _________________________
The configuratio n procedure instructs you to present v irtual disks as type Sun
Solaris, which is incorrect. Virtual disks must be presented as type Unknown.
Reboot all nodes connected to the SAN fabric to detect the volumes after device configuration
is complete.
6.1.2 Make and Mount the File Systems
After i nstalling and configuring your SAN storage devices, follow this procedure to make and
mount the SAN storage devices on to your cluster:
1. Log in as the root user to the node on which the SAN controller ( the HBA) was installed.
_______________________ Note _______________________
If the SAN volum e was not presented to the host before the host was booted,
you must u se the SAN Management software to present the volume and
reboot the host to proceed. If this i s not done, any attempt to mount the
volume results in an error m essage that states it is not a valid block d evice.
2. View the follow ing file to determ ine the devices that are related to the SAN volumes
available to the system:
# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Command output looks similar to the followin g. I n this example, lines containin g Model:
HSV110 indicate that the SAN was found on scsi2:
