For each HP ProLiant DL145 node, log in to the Management Processor CLI and
invoke the Terminal m od e:
1. Establish a connection to th e server by using one of the following:
A serial port connection to the console port
A telnet session to the IP address of the Management NIC

documentation that came with your HP ProLiant server.
2. Press the Esc key and then press Shif t/9. The Management Processor CLI is displayed.
3. Enter the administrator ’s user name at the login: prompt (the default is admin).
4. Enter the administrator ’s password at the password: prompt (the default is admin).
5. Ensure that all machines are requesting IP addresses t hroug h the Dynamic Host Control
Protocol (DHCP). Do the follo wing to determine i f D HCP is enabled:
a. At the ProLiant> prompt, enter the following:
ProLiant> net
b. At the INET> prom pt, enter the following:
INET> state
iface...ipsrc.....IP addr........subnet.......gateway
1-et1 dhcp 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
current tick count 2433
ping delay time: 280 ms.
ping host: 0.0.0.0

c. If the value for ipsrc is nvmem,enterdhcp at the INET> prompt:
INET> dhcp
Configuring for the enabling of DHCP.
Note: Configuration change has been made, but changes will
not take effect until the processor has been rebooted.

(y or n)?
d. Enter y to reboot the processor.
6. If the DHCP setting has not been changed, press Shift+Esc+Q,orenterquit at the
ProLiant> prompt to exit the Management Processor C LI and invoke Conso le mode.
3.4.2 Preparing HP ProLiant DL 145 G2 Nodes
On an HP ProLiant DL145 G2 server, the appro priate settings are configured using the BIOS
Setup Utility.
Figure 3-5 shows the back of the HP ProLian t DL140 G2 server.
