5. Choose File –> Exit to exit the Integrated Lights Out Setup Utility
and resume the po wer-on self-test.
6. Watch the screen carefully, and press the F9 key when prompted to access the ROM-Based
Setup Utilit y (RBSU).
Perform the following hardware preparation tasks from the RBSU for each node in your XC
system:
1. From the RBSU main menu, choose Standard Boot Order (IPL),andmakethe
following settings:
a. Set the head node to boot from CD-ROM first.
b. Set all other nodes to b oot in the following order: CD-ROM, NIC1, Hard Disk.
2. From the R B SU main menu, choose Advanced Options -> Processor
Hyper-Threading and disable hyperthreading.
3. From the RBSU main menu, choose System Options and set the following:
a. C hoose Embedded Serial Port and set it to COM2.
b. Choose Virtual Serial Port and set it to COM1.
c. Press t he Esc keytoreturntothemainmenu.
4. From the RBSU main m enu, choose BIOS Serial Console & EMS and set the
following:
a. C hoose BIOS Serial Console Port and set it to COM1.
b. Choose BIOS Serial Console Baud Rate and set the value to 115200.
c. C hoose EMS Console and disable it.
d. Choose BIOS Interface Mode and set it to Command-Line.
e. Press t he Esc keytoreturntothemainmenu.
5. Make any other BIOS settings at this time. S pecific instruction s for this task are outside
the scope of this manual because the information depends on the hardware involved.
You can find more information on other BIOS settings in the appropriate HP ProLiant
Server User Guide.
6. Press the Esc key to exit the RBSU. Press the F10 key to confirm your choice and restart
the boot sequence.
7. Repeat this procedure for every node in your XC system .
3.4 Preparing the Hardware for CP4000 Systems
Follow the procedures in this section to prepare each node before installing and configuring the
HP XC System Software; hardw are preparation tasks vary by server model:
HP ProLiant DL145 (Section 3.4.1)
HP ProLiant DL145 G2 (Section 3.4.2)
HP ProLiant DL385 and DL585 (Section 3.4.3)
3.4.1 Preparing HP ProLiant DL145 Nodes
On an HP ProLiant DL1 45 serv er, the appropriate settings are configured using the fo
