Preparing Individual Nodes
This chapter contains information about preparing th e nodes in your HP Cluster Platform to
prepare for the XC software in stallation. The following topics are discussed:
• Firmware requirements and dependencies (Section 3.1)
• General hardware preparation tasks for all cluster platforms (Section 3.2)
• Preparing the hardware for CP3000 systems (Section 3.3)
• Preparing the hardware for CP4000 systems (Section 3.4)
• Preparing the hardware for CP6000 systems (Section 3.5)
3.1 Firmware Requirements and Dependencies
Firmware versions for hardware in the HP XC System Software have dependencies on
individual component firmware versions. These dependencies are listed in Table 3-1.
Before proceeding with the XC installation process, verify the device firmware against the latest
validated firmware revisions l isted at the following URL:

Yo ur hardware components must meet the m inimum firmware revision levels shown on this
Web site. Procedures describing how to verify or upgrade the firmware for each component are
found in the associated hardware documentation.
