2.4.2 Turning Node Power On
The power command allows you t o t urn on power to a set of nodes.
You can turn on power to a node from any other node, but you must be superuser to do so.
Invoke the power command with the --on option and design a te the node or nodes:
# power --on nodelist
2.4.3 Turning Node Power Off
You can turn off power to a specific n ode by using the power command.
You can turn off power to a node off from any other node, but you must be super user to d o so.
1. Loginassuperuser.
2. Obtain the node’s current pow er status:
# power --status nodename
If this command prints the following message, the single node you specified is already
off; otherwise, proceed to the next step.
OFF
3. Invoke the power command with the --off op tion:
# power --off nodename
2.4.4 Cycling Node Power
Cycling pow er means turn ing power off, then turning it on.
You can cycle the power for a node from any other node, but you must be superuser to do so.
To cycle a node’s power, enter the power com mand with the --cycle option for the specified
node:
# power --cycle nodelist
2.4.5 Locating a Given Node
Most nodes supported on th e HP XC s ystem hav e a Unit Id entifier LED that can be lit; not all
nodes support th is feature.
Follow this procedure to light the Unit Identifier LED on a node with this feature, given
its nodename.
1. Loginassuperuser.
2. Illuminate the LED on the specified node with the locatenode command:
# locatenode --on nodename
The Unit Identifier LED on the n ode illuminates on the node’s front panel.
3. Invoke the locatenode comman d again this time with the --off optiontoturnoffthe
Unit Identifier LED when you are done.
Alternatively, you can use the power command wi th the --uidon opti on in stead
of using the locatenode command with the --on option; similarly y ou can use
