6.3.3 HP StoreAll OS Release Notes (AW549-96082, January 2014)

• After using the QR DVD for installation and configuration, the default gateways for the Cluster
and User networks are now restored by restarting the network. This ensures users can connect to
the StoreAll services, which are on the User network, without rebooting the server.
• Temporary files that are created during the restoration of WORM-retained and legal hold files
are now deleted when the restoration is complete. Previously, those temporary files were not
deleted, which could consume disk space unnecessarily.
• When running the ibrix_fsck command to detect corruption, the command is no longer stuck
in an infinite loop during the get_icount_el () function, which required manual intervention
to abort the command.
• When entering the management IP address in the ASCII Wizard, the wizard now checks if that
IP address is already in use. If so, an error message is displayed, notifying the user that another
IP address must be entered to continue. Previously, there was no error message and the wizard
would fail.
• The StoreAll QR DVD now supports installation on systems with the SAP-HANA BIOS Product ID.
Installations on a system with this Product ID will be treated as a 9300 platform with respect to
the StoreAll portion of the software installation. The SAP-HANA solution will layer additional
software on top of the base StoreAll installation during configuration steps that follow the execution
of the QR DVD process.
• If the file system retention period on the source and target clusters is set to the maximum of 100
years, you can successfully start a continuous remote replication task on these clusters. Previously,
the replication task would fail.
• During a system failover, file system corruption is now avoided when a crash occurs during heavy
deletion. Previously, the error ext3_free_blocks_sb: bit already cleared for block
would display in the logs when this issue occurred.
• Customers with dual network configurations that have backup/standby NICs configured on the
cluster can now configure Phone Home for their configuration. Previously, Phone Home did not
support backup/standby NICs and the Phone Home configuration would fail.
• When restoring a previous version of a file or folder, the error message GetSnapshotList
failed error -33 will only display when there are no snapshots within the file or folder.
Previously, this error message was displaying whenever a restore task was implemented.
• Updated the SAS switch firmware to fix issues that the HP Platform tools (such as FMT, hpsmon,
and SAS check) were having when used on a SAS switch.
• To prevent file systems from becoming unresponsive due to a node reaching a maximum number
of days it has been up consecutively, the following features have been implemented to notify you
that the node should be rebooted:
◦ The ibrix_fm_tune command includes a new tunable parameter –
serverUptimeEventThreshold. The default (and recommended) value is 400 days.
◦ A new alert event (server.uptime.overshoot) is generated when the number of consecutive
days that the node has been up exceeds the threshold set by the
serverUptimeEventThreshold parameter. Use the ibrix_event command to configure
event notifications.
◦ A new state value displays when executing the ibrix_server –l command. If the state
displays Up, UptimeOverThreshold, this indicates that the number of consecutive days the
node has been up exceeds the threshold set by the serverUptimeEventThreshold
parameter.
