Recommended Connection Topologies
This section shows some recommended connection topologies using the
Power Supply Shelf. The Power Supply Shelf provides only EPS (PoE) power
for up to two HP ProCurve switches. In the illustration below, one Power
Supply Shelf with two power supplies is connected to an HP ProCurve Series
zl Switch, also with two power supplies. The switch provides PoE/PoE+ power
to Ethernet devices connected to their ports.

Limitations
The Power Supply Shelf supplies only PoE/PoE+ power.
Status Indication
The Power Status LEDs on the Power Supply Shelf indicate if a port can
provide power. For example, if two switches are connected to the Power
Supply Shelf and the power to the switch on port 2 fails, the Power Status LED
for port 2 turns on. The Power Status LED for port 1 remains off.
