Installation Requirements
WebQoS Software Installation
The HP WebQoS product consists of the following components that can be installed on a single
server or multiple servers.

Services
Services for IIS The ServiceControlAgent software collects performance
information, distributes configuration information to
WebQoS nodes, monitors operation information and
stores the information in the database. This information
is displayed by the management console.
The WebQoS web services component must be installed
on every web server system to be managed with
WebQoS.
SCI or
Communications
Controller
Interface
The Service Control Interface software receives
configuration information from the management console
and API and monitors the SCO and SCA(s).
The WebQoS communications component must be
installed on at least one system in your WebQoS
domain.
SCO or
Management
Server
Controller
Operator
The Service Control Operator software monitors service
level SLOs.
The WebQoS management server must be installed on
only one system in your WebQoS domain.
Management
Console
Management
Console
The graphical interface allows you to define
performance objectives for the components of the service
and to monitor performance levels and SLOs.
The WebQoS management console is installed and run
on a Windows NT/95/98/00 system.
Database Database The database stores configuration and event
information, statistics, and component status.
The WebQoS database must be installed on only one
system in your WebQoS domain.
API API This component is optional. Install this if you want to
use the WebQoS API.
