HP WebQoS for Windows
Installation Requirements
Installation Requirements
This section contains some general information about product dependencies and
requirements.
The WebQoS software includes six main components: the WebQoS Services for IIS (also
referred to as the SCA), the WebQoS Controller Interface (also referred to as the SCI), the
WebQoS Controller Operator (also referred to as the SCO), the WebQoS Management
Console, the WebQoS Database, and the WebQoS API. The WebQoS Services for IIS must
be installed on the system where Microsoft IIS is running; that system must be running
Windows Server or Windows Advanced Server.
HP WebQoS for Windows 2000 only supports IIS version 5.0. HP WebQoS for Windows NT
only supports IIS version 4.0.
For Windows 2000, you must install Service Pack 1 (SP1).
For Windows NT 4.0, you must install Service Pack 6a (SP6a) and the Windows Scripting
Host from option pack 4.
You should have IIS installed and configured properly before installing HP WebQoS.
In order to configure HP WebQoS to properly manage IIS systems, the DNS environment
must be set up correctly. It is highly recommended that you use fully-qualified hostnames
(for example, www.hp.com) whenever possible. Make sure that the Computer Name of the
Windows system matches the hostname defined in the DNS server.
