Installation Requirements
WebQoS Software Installation Verification
Verify that the software has installed correctly by doing the following:
1. For Windows 2000, select Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Internet
Services Manager.
For Windows NT, select Start -> Programs -> Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack ->
Microsoft Internet Information Server -> Internet Services Manager.
2. Right-Click on the web server on the left side of the of the Internet Information Services
screen and select Properties.
3. In the Internet Information Services tab under Master Properties, select WWW Service
and click on Edit.
4. Select the ISAPI Filters tab.
5. Verify that the filter named WebQoS appears after the sspfilt and Compression filters, but
before any other filters.
6. If the WebQoS filter is positioned incorrectly, remove and reinstall the WebQoS software. If
reinstalling the software does not solve this problem, contact your HP support
representative.
After Installing WebQoS
Information on configuring and using WebQoS is contained in the manual HP WebQoS
Administration Guide. The manual is a PDF file and, after installing WebQoS, you will find it
in the following location:
<install-directory>
\docs\install_config_guide.pdf
Database Backups
Backups of the database are performed daily at 1 AM on the system running the database.
The time can be modified by editing the appropriate parameter in the
<install-directory>
\db\solid.ini file.
If you modify the solid.ini file, you must restart the database by doing the following:
On a Windows NT system, to restart the database, go to the Control Panel and select
Services. Highlight WebQoS DB, click on the Stop button, and then click on the Start button.
On a Windows 2000 system, to restart the database, click on Start -> Programs ->
Administrative Tools -> Services. Double-Click on WebQoS DB.
Restoring the Database By default, the database backup file andlog files are located in the
<install-directory>
\db\backup directory.
