Console on a PC” on page 11).
6. Install the required patches (refer to “Patches and Fixes in This Version” on page 14).
7. Run the WebQoS setup script. Refer to the setup script instructions in the HP WebQoS
Administration Guide (/opt/webqos/docs/install_config_guide.pdf).
8. Update the customized files. Since the qos.conf file has been updated for WebQoS 3.0,
you must edit the qos.conf file to make any changes. Do NOT copy the old qos.conf file
over the new qos.conf file.
Integrating WebQoS with the BroadVision One-To-One Server
If you are using the BroadVision One-To-One Server, you must install the BroadVision server
software before installing the WebQoS software. You must also set the following parameters
in the /etc/opt/webqos/qos.conf file on this system:
APP_SESS_ENABLE_URL_ENCODING
APP_SESSION_ID_STR
BV_USER_NAME
For more information about these parameters, refer to the section
“URL Encoding Parameters” in Chapter 2 of the HP WebQoS Administration Guide.
Installing the iPlanet Web Server
Install and configure your iPlanet Web Server.
NOTE If caching is enabled on your web server, static web pages may be served from
the cache bypassing WebQoS and possibly overloading the web server.
If caching is disabled on your web server, all static web pages pass through
WebQoS. This may degrade web server performance.
