Installing HP WebQoS
Chapter 16
Checking System Prerequisites
Before installing HP WebQoS, check that your system meets all of the necessary
prerequisites.
Solaris System Prerequisites
Computer: SPARC

Server
Operating
System: Solaris 8
Memory: At least 128 MB
Disk Space: 90 MB
Web Server: iPlanet Web Server 4.1 SP7
PC Management Console Prerequisites
Operating
System: Windows 95, 98, 2000, or NT 4.0
Memory: At least 64 MB
Disk Space: 17 MB
NOTE The management console can also be run on your Solaris system. No additional
prerequisites (other than those listed for your Solaris system) are required.
Upgrading to WebQoS 3.0
If you are upgrading from a previous version of WebQoS, do the following:
1. Note all policies and rules you have configured.
2. Save, to a non-WebQoS directory, any files you have customized (for example, qos.conf,
Defer.html and/or Reject.html).
3. Use pkgrm to uninstall the older version of WebQoS.
4. Install the WebQoS 3.0 software (refer to “Installing the WebQoS Software” on page 8).
5. Upgrade the management console on your PC (refer to “Upgrading the Management
