HP Web Jetadmin - Eco Solutions for HP Web Jetadmin
Collect
The Collect section of the EcoSMART Fleet application allows the user to schedule Web Jetadmin data
extractions from one or more Web Jetadmin databases for a specified period of time. These
extractions collect information about device models, energy settings, and paper usage, and
consolidate them into a named Analysis. The analysis then studied and manipulated to create reports
and cost saving scenarios. The collection can take anywhere from a few seconds to several hours
depending on the number of devices in the Web Jetadmin data sources, the number of data sources,
the hardware of the servers involved, and other factors.
Creating an Analysis
To create an analysis that can generate reports, click the Collect tab (administrator access only). The
Web Jetadmin Data Sources section lists all the active Web Jetadmin databases registered in
EcoSMART Fleet. In order to execute an analysis, at least one Web Jetadmin data source needs to be
registered in EcoSMART Fleet, and at least one Web Jetadmin data source needs to be selected in the
collect window.
NOTE: For Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7, the following additional steps are required for
proper operation of running an analysis:
a. Open the HP EcoSMART Fleet Web Folder.
The default location is C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ESF, but the location varies depending on the IIS
configuration and the virtual directory specified in the HP EcoSMART Fleet installer.
b. Right-click the License directory, and then select Properties.
c. Click the Security tab, and then click Edit.
d. Select the IIS_IUSRS user, and then select Write permissions in the Allow column.
e. Click OK. Then click OK again.
The Scheduling and Recurrence section defines when the extraction is going to happen. One time
occurrences allow the user to execute an analysis now, or alternatively schedule it to execute at one
time in the future. Weekly, monthly and yearly scheduled occurrences can also be defined.
