3. If no Hosted Endpoints are listed in the log file, check for errors such as:
Exception caught in the function OnReceiveRequest...Object reference not set to an instance
of an object.
If this error is listed then the proxy agent cannot connect to the printer. Likely another
application is using the socket connection that the WS Proxy agent needs. This could mean
that VM workstation is installed on the same client as the WS Proxy agent.
4. Verify that the latest version of the WS Pro Proxy agent is installed. The version will be
displayed under Control Panel, Program and Features in the Version column and the name.
WS Pro Proxy agent before 10.3.1, will only display the version in the version column or
might not show any version at all.
DISCOVERY LOGS
Additional log file functionality exists within HP Web Jetadmin that allows administrators to
understand and troubleshoot PC-connected device discovery attempts. The following steps can be
used to enable and gather logging details for the HP SNMP\WS Pro Proxies and WMI.
PC Connect Logging in Web Jetadmin
1. Using Microsoft Notepad or a similar editor, open the file:
DRIVE:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Application Data\Hewlett-
Packard\HPWebJetadmin\WjaService\config\DiscoveryManager.config.xml
2. Edit the section:

To equal:
<property name="DiscoveryLogEnabled">

3. Save the file.
Additional settings can be used to increase the number of log files created by the system. The default
setting has the system overwrite a second log file on each new discovery.

Packard\HPWebJetadmin\WjaService\config\DiscoveryManager.config.xml
2. Edit the section:

Adjust <value> to the desired number of log files
3. Restart the HP Web Jetadmin service (HP WJA Service).
