HP Web Jetadmin - Creating Reports and Exporting Data
41
EXPORTING DEVICE DATA
Creating an export
Device data can be exported
from HP Web Jetadmin to either
XML or CSV file format. This can
be initiated from any device list
or device group (Figure 42), or
the Export Devices wizard can
be launched from Tools > Export
devices. When this wizard is
launched, the user is presented
with a variety of export choices.
Selecting data columns
The Select columns page is
initially displayed by the Export
Devices wizard (Figure 43),
allowing the Threshold level to
be set. The Threshold level
specifies the age or type of data
that HP Web Jetadmin uses when
gathering data from the devices
selected. The thresholds available
are:
Database only: Data is only
gathered from the database,
not from the device. This
allows for very quick data
gathering.
Missing items only: Data is
gathered mainly from the
database; however, any
missing device data in the
database is gathered directly
from the device. This helps
minimize the time it takes to
gather the data.
From device only: This option
forces HP Web Jetadmin to
gather all data from the devices, insuring the most up-to-date information. However, this causes
the process to take longer, since every device must be contacted and data gathered from it.
1 hour: Data in the database older than 1 hour is updated directly from the device before being
exported. This minimizes the time it takes to export the data while insuring the data is mostly up-
to-date.
3 hours: Data in the database older than 3 hours is updated directly from the device before being
exported. If device data does not change significantly in a 3-hour time period, this option
minimizes the time it takes to export the data while insuring the data is mostly up-to-date.
