Connecting the Cables
To properly configure the cables and connectors on the HP
VPN Server Appliance SA3400/SA3450:
1.
Remove the power cable from its packaging.
2.
Connect the power cable to the IEC connector on the
rear panel of the chassis.
3.
The HP VPN device has slots for either two Ethernet
ports, or one Ethernet port and one serial card with
two interfaces located on the rear panel. Connect the
Ethernet (ferrite) cables supplied with the system to
the 10BaseT or 100BaseTX Ethernet RJ-45 connector.
Then, connect the Ethernet (Category 5 or better)
cables at the customer site to the system supplied
Ethernet (ferrite) cable.
4.
If you want to connect to a management terminal or to
a modem, connect a serial cable to the DB-9 connector
designated Console.
5.
Connect the power cable to a power source.
