1 HP VAN SDN Controller
This chapter describes the requirements, supported hardware and software, and configuration
maximums for the HP VAN SDN (Virtual Area Network Software-Defined Networking) Controller.
1.1 Hardware requirements and recommendations
In a development or test environment, a system on which the controller is installed must meet the
following minimum hardware requirements:

3.0 GHz x86-64 quad core processor or equivalent
8 GB RAM available to the controller (additional memory is required to run the
operating system and other applications)
40 GB of available disk space
One 1 Gbps Ethernet NIC
For environments in which higher performance is a priority, the following table lists the recommended
hardware for a system on which the controller is installed:
