HP VAN SDN Controller Administrator Guide v3
The Application Manager supports default and add-on network services, and enables installing,
upgrading, enabling (starting), disabling (stopping), and uninstalling managed applications. The
default application set includes:
• Path Diagnostics
• Link Manager
• Node Manager
• Path Daemon
• Topology Manager
• Topology Viewer
NOTE: If you stop the controller, then later restart it, all enabled (active) applications will also
be restarted. The controller does not restart applications that were in a disabled state when the
controller was stopped.
2.3.1 Using the Application Manager
NOTE: Most of the Application Manager actions can also be performed using the REST API.
2.3.1.1 Adding an application or upgrading and activating an application
This procedure uploads a new application or a new version of an existing application to the

be added to the controller. For the requirements to which an application must conform, see
Application requirements .
NOTE: To load an application into a controller team environment, upload, deploy, and start the
application zip file on any team member. The team member propagates the application to all other
active controllers in the team.

• For installing a new application, click New.
• For upgrading to a new version of an existing application, select the application from
the Name list and click Upgrade.
