A. Creating a modular style Continentalclusters package
To create a modular style Continentalclusters package, a modular Serviceguard package must first be
created. Include a Continentalclusters module in the existing package configuration file and create a
new package configuration file. Edit the newly created package configuration file to include physical
replication-specific parameter values.
This section shows an example of how to create a modular Continentalclusters package using
Metrocluster Continuous Access XP/P9000. Modular Continentalclusters packages can be created in
a similar way when using Metrocluster Continuous Access EVA and Metrocluster SRDF. For
information on creating Continentalclusters modular packages, see the Designing Disaster Recovery
HA ClustersUsing Metrocluster and Continentalclusters manual, available at
www.hp.com/go/hpux-
serviceguard-docs (click on HP Serviceguard Metrocluster).
Complete the following steps to create a modular package using Continuous Access XP/P9000
replication:
1. Include the Continentalclusters Continuous Access XP/P9000 module in the existing Serviceguard
modular package configuration file. Run the following command to include a Metrocluster module
# cmmakepkg –i /etc/cmcluster/guest-name/guest-name.config –m dts/ccxpca
CC_guest-name.config
Note: When using Continentalclusters with Metrocluster Continuous Access EVA and Metrocluster SRDF, include
dts/cccaeva and dts/ccsrdf modules, respectively.
2. Edit the CC_guest-name.config file to configure the following Metrocluster parameters:
dts_pkg_dir /etc/cmcluster/ccvm
DEVICE_GROUP dgVM
FENCE never
HORCMINST 0
HORCMPERM MGRNOINST
HORCTIMEOUT 360
MULTIPLE_PVOL_OR_SVOL_FRAMES_FOR_PKG 0
WAITTIME 300
AUTO_FENCEDATA_SPLIT 1
AUTO_NONCURDATA 0
AUTO_PSUEPSUS 0
AUTO_PSUSSSWS 0
AUTO_SVOLPFUS 0
AUTO_SVOLPSUE 0
AUTO_SVOLPSUS 0
3.
Set the AUTO_RUN parameter to no.
4. Verify and then apply the package configuration:
# cmcheckconf -v -P /etc/cmcluster/guest-name/CC_guest-name.config
# cmapplyconf -v -P /etc/cmcluster/guest-name/CC_guest-name.config
5. Repeat steps 1–4 on a node in the recovery cluster to create a Continentalclusters package in the
recovery cluster.
6. Run the Continentalclusters package in the primary cluster.
# cmrunpkg ccvmpkg
After this procedure, the VM configured as a Continentalclusters package will run on the primary
cluster.
B. Creating a legacy style Metrocluster package
If the Serviceguard package is created using legacy style, only a legacy style Continentalclusters
package can be created; to create a Continentalclusters package for a VM guest using Continuous
Access XP/P9000 replication, you need to distribute the Metrocluster environment file on all the
