Related JAG or Patch ID Number
JAGag01420
Applicable on
vPars A.04.xx on Integrity
Description
The PCI doorbell is a physical button located adjacent to each hot-plug PCI
slot. It is also known as the attention button. During a 5-second window
immediately following the initiation of a PCI OL* operation, you can push
this button to cancel the PCI OL* operation.
However, when in vPars mode and using a sx2000 Integrity server, pressing
the doorbell to cancel a PCI OL* operation may fail.
Note that this does not affect the process or functionality of adding or
replacing the PCI card; it only affects the cancelling process when using the
PCI doorbell.
For more information on the doorbell functions and location, see the
Interface Card OL* Support Guide, available at http://docs.hp.com.
Symptoms
Pressing the doorbell to cancel a PCI operation may fail to cancel the
operation.
Workaround
After the power to the PCI slot turns off, press the doorbell again; power to
the PCI slot should resume.
