Conclusion
The initial Accelerated Virtual I/O solution that was released in December 2007 (with Integrity VM
3.5) has significantly improved the overall I/O performance of the Integrity VM product. Integrity VM
4.0 extends the AVIO solution to HP-UX 11iv3 Guests and HP-UX 11iv3 hosts. This release delivers
significant improvements in storage management capabilities, storage LUN and logical volume
capacity, high availability, and performance. This clearly demonstrates AVIO’s extensible I/O
architecture for seamless integration of new server and I/O adapter management and virtualization
capabilities.
In addition, the ability to manage AVIO adapters the same way as existing emulated SCSI and LAN
devices as well as new Agile devices (in HP-UX 11iv3) are managed ensures that HP Integrity VM
system administrators can take full advantage of AVIO with minimal effort. Finally, AVIO continues to
deliver the same level of guest isolation as previous HP Integrity VM releases, so critical applications
or workloads running in one guest will not be impacted by other guest operating systems.
