Description
Tape recovery, including booting from a tape device, is not supported on
Integrity servers. On an Integrity server, if you attempt to boot a virtual
partition using the tape device that has been configured using the :TAPE
attribute, the vPars Monitor may panic.
Symptoms
On Integrity servers, if you attempt to execute the command
# vparboot -p
target_vpar
-B TAPE
where TAPE is the tape device previously configured using the :TAPE
attribute, the vPars Monitor may panic with an MCA (Machine Check
Abort).
Workaround
None. Note that tape recovery, including booting from a tape device, is
supported only on PA servers; it is not supported on Integrity servers
