Installing the HP-UX TCS Software
HP-UX TCS installation requires kernel patch PHKL_35428, which can be downloaded from the
HP IT Resource Center (ITRC) at:
http://www.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHKL_35428
This patch must be installed before HP-UX TCS is installed, or it must be placed in the same
depot that you use to install HP-UX TCS. PHKL_35428 requires a kernel rebuild and a system
reboot to complete its installation. If PHKL_35428 has been installed, HP-UX TCS installation
does not require a kernel rebuild or a system reboot.
To install HP-UX TCS on an HP-UX 11i v2 system, follow these steps:
1. Review “Enabling the TPM” (page 13).
2. Download HP-UX TCS. See Acquiring the HP-UX TCS Software” (page 17).
3. As root, install HP-UX TCS using an interactive swinstall session, or use the swinstall
-x autoreboot=true -s TCS_A.01.00_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA.depot command.
If PHKL_35428 is part of the local depot file, it is auto-selected by default and installed as part
of HP-UX TCS. If PHKL_35428 is already part of the operating environment, the default settings
do not allow it to be reinstalled.
If the installation fails with a message indicating TPM ownership has been taken previously, the
TPM hardware must be cleared. See the HP-UX Trusted Computing Services Release Notes in the
HP-UX Trusted Computing Services section at:
