that the POSIX shell is used to execute commands in the crontab file. If the login shell is set to
/usr/bin/sh in the /etc/passwd file, this error is not logged.
Workaround: You can safely ignore both these warning messages.
• Problem: If database connection times-out during a transaction, the transaction model is broken.
Description: During heavy load conditions or frequent connection resets, the unexpected
behavior of the database results in loosing events from the database or displaying duplicate
key messages. This leads to none of the events being archived starting from the described
instance onwards.
Workaround: The duplicate errors are generated because of multiple reasons. It requires
investigations to arrive at the solution. Contact your HP Support Representative for further
diagnosis.
• Problem: The second lan interface configured on a server is not accessible for web browsing.
Description: When a second lan interface was configured on a server using a private subnet
used only for cluster heartbeat traffic, the “Launch SMH” button got the second lan interface’s
address but was not accessible for web browsing.
Workaround: Disable the second lan, restart SFMProviderModule, and configure the second
lan card. After configuring, do not restart the server, Cimserver, and SFMProvider module.
In the case of a multi LAN environment configuration, do not restart any of the following:
◦ SFMProviderModule
◦ Cimserver
◦ Server
• Problem: DRD upgrade results in pre-install errors for SFM.
Description: When the user tries to upgrade SFM product in DRD environment, the following
error message is displayed:
Failed to move /var/opt/sfmdb/pgsql /var/opt/sfmdb/pgsql.X Y. Terminating Install.
Workaround: Do not to use this product for DRD upgrade scenarios. This problem will be
fixed in SFM C.07.09.02.03, September 2012 web release.
• Problem: The installation and upgrade of SFM fails.
Description: The installation/upgrade of SFM September 2012 release from prior releases,
fails on HP 9000 systems with locale settings not supported by postgres 8.4.8 server.
Workaround: Before installation/upgrade set the locale to “C” and reset it after the installation.
