SFM Release Notes for HP-UX 11i v3 March 2011

The following EMS Hardware Monitors are supported on HP Integrity servers running the HP-UX
11i v3 operating system:
• Corrected Platform Error Monitor (cpe_em)
• IPMI Forward Progress Log Monitor (fpl_em)
• CMC Monitor (cmc_em)
• Itanium Core Hardware Monitor(ia64_corehw)
• Itanium Memory Monitor (memory_ia64)
NOTE: All of EMS Hardware Monitors are not supported by EMS Wrapper Provider included

Defect Fixes
• QXCR1001069314
SFM crashed and core file is generated.
Problem: The threads were not shutting down properly during the application shut down. This
caused SFM to crash and core file was generated.
Resolution: This problem is fixed.
• QXCR1001069958
Wrong ILO Firmware version is shown in the system page.
Problem: The firmware version of Management Processor Firmware (MFW) displayed is
incorrect on a rx2800 i2 box. Use sysrev command on MP to obtain the correct version.
Resolution: This problem is fixed.
• QXCR1001052731
Core dump file is generated while testing IC353 HART and SYMC.
Problem: Core dump file is received during IC353 HART and SYMC testing on a VPAR machine.
Resolution: This problem is fixed.
• QXCR1001037548
Memory leak observed from SFMProviderModule when ThermalProvider is enabled.
Problem: Memory leak of 4 to 5 MB is observed in SFMProviderModule. The memory leak
was not observed when ThermalProvider was disabled.
Resolution: This problem is fixed.
• QXCR1001066331
TCP port to access database from remote systems is closed.
Problem: The 10864 port opened by postgres is accessible completely. If SFM requires this
port to be accessible completely, then a verification is required. Otherwise, the port is closed.
Resolution: This problem is fixed.
• QXCR1001057103
While creating SFM subscriptions a core dump file is generated.
Problem: A core dump file with back trace is generated while creating SFM subscriptions.
Resolution: This problem is fixed.
• QXCR1001062615
sfmconfig -w -s switches the monitoring mode to SFM on non-ipmi systems.
