Figure 16 (page 51) illustrates the process of log errors on a 6.x (vPar/VM) Guest.
HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) (referred as Legacy vPars)
HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) is also referred as Legacy vPars. For the ease of user benefit and
understanding, HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) is mentioned as Legacy vPars in this document.
As each HP-UX Virtual Partition (vPar) is assigned to its own subset of hardware, the behavior of
SysFaultMgmt (System Fault Management) (SFM) is equivalent and as same as in nPAR
(nPartitioning), which is known as hard partition or physical partition.
Integrity Virtual Machine (VM) 4.x (referred as HPVM)
Integrity Virtual Machine (VM) 4.x is also referred as HPVM. For the ease of user benefit and
understanding, Integrity Virtual Machine (VM) 4.x is mentioned as HPVM in this document.
Inventory handling
Integrity VM Guests do not support inventory classes. When requested to enumerate any
non-supported inventory classes, SysFaultMgmt (System Fault Management) (SFM) throws an
error message: “CIM_ERR_NOT_SUPPORTED: This operation is not supported on this configuration”.
Indication handling
Only FPL indications are available on VM Guest. The Admin user must check VM Host, for all the
reported events.
