F Interdependency between SysFaultMgmt (System Fault
Management) (SFM) and SysFW
This section describes about the special interdependency, that exists between SysFaultMgmt
(System Fault Management) (SFM) and SysFW on BL860c i4, BL870c i4, BL890c i4, rx2800
i4 and rx2900 i4.
On the prior mentioned servers, SysFaultMgmt (System Fault Management) (SFM) (version
C.07.12 or later) or WBEMMgmtBundle (version C.07.01 or later) require SysFW version 44.01
or later, which needs to be installed for advanced memory error analysis algorithm to take effect.
NOTE: SysFaultMgmt (System Fault Management) (SFM) (version C.07.12 or later) or
WBEMMgmtBundle (version C.07.01 or later) is referred as SFM in remainder of this section.
The following scenarios describe the recommended sequence of installation.
1. Scenario 1: Install SFM/SysFW on i4 server with SysFW version, lower than 44.01
• Install SFM
• Install SysFW 44.01 or later
• Reboot the system
2. Scenario 2: Add DIMMs to i4 server with SysFW version lower than 44.01
• Install SFM
• Install SysFW 44.01 or later
• Power off the system
• Add DIMMs
• Boot the system
3. Scenario 3: Install SFM on i4 server with SysFW 44.01 or later
• Install SFM
• Reboot the system
4. Scenario 4: Add DIMMs to i4 server with SysFW 44.01 or later
• Install SFM
• Power off the system
• Install DIMMs
• Boot the system
