module for the tests you want to run; ODE selects the appropriate tests to execute on the

Offline Diagnostic Utilities for Integrity Servers
The following list shows some of the tasks that you can perform on HP
Integrity servers and on workstations based on the Itanium processor using the offline
diagnostic utilities:
Map out the physical layout of the CPU and its peripherals.
Test peripherals attached to the boot path.
Exercise or diagnose user-specified hardware including:
Processor
Memory
Core electronic chipset
Core I/O
I/O cards
Peripheral devices
Test the Zx1 (Pluto) and Mercury Central Electronics Complex (CEC).
You can run the offline diagnostic utilities from the HP Integrity Servers and Itanium
Workstations Offline Diagnostics and Utilities CD-ROM or from the HP Service
Partition (HPSP), which is a special disk partition that is available when the operating
system is not running.
Running the diagnostic utilities from the HPSP is considerably faster than running them
from CD. On systems that have an HPSP, you can copy the files to the HPSP partition
from the CD as a preventative task. This is not necessary for systems that have the files
preloaded on the HPSP (for example, on some systems running HP-UX B.11.23). Refer
to your operating system user guide for information about whether or not you system has
an HPSP and instructions on creating one if necessary.
You must run the diagnostic utilities from the CD in the following circumstances:
The hard disk is not functioning.
The system does not support an HPSP.
The HPSP does not have the latest version of the diagnostic utilities.
For more information about obtaining and running the offline diagnostic utilities, see the
Offline Diagnostics Environment Administrator’s and User’s Guide.
