Following is a co-requisite for using SFM:

• PHKL_34795 IPMI patch

NOTE:

• SysMgmtWeb is optional. However, you can not access EVWEB GUI if SysMgmtWeb is not

installed on the system. SysMgmtWeb, WBEMServices A.02.02.08, and Online Diagnostics

are available on the Operating Environment (OE) media.

• HP recommends that you install HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) version

C.05.01.00.01.xx to remotely administer indications and instances.

• The mentioned versions of the software are minimum requirements. All future versions

support SFM by default.

• Minimum Patch Requirements (Required if QPKBASE is not installed):

— PHKL_36288 - 11.23 Cumulative diag2 driver and vPars enablement

— PHKL_34795 - 11.23 Cumulative IPMI driver patch

— PHSS_35055 - aC++ Runtime (IA: A.06.10, PA: A.03.71)

— PHSS_36345 - 11.23 Integrity Unwind Library

Available from the QPKBASE B.11.23.0712.070a Base Quality Pack Bundle (December 2007)

— PHSS_37947- linker + fdp cumulative patch

PHSS_37947 is recommended due to a critical patch warning for PHSS_34860

Installing the SFM Software from the Media

This section describes the two ways in which you can install the SFM software from the HP-UX

11i v2 OE media:

• Using the terminal user interface (TUI)

• Using the command-line interface (CLI)

Installing Using the TUI

To install the SFM software using the TUI, complete the following steps:

1. Log in to the system as a superuser.

2. Mount the CD to a location of your choice as in the following example:

# mount /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /tmp/cdrom

3. Enter the following command at the HP-UX prompt:

# swinstall

The SD Install - Software Selection window appears as shown in the following figure:

4. In the Specify Source window, select the appropriate location and click OK. The SD Install

- Software Selection window is displayed.

5. In the SD Install - Software Selection window, select Options-> Autoselect dependencies

when marking software.
