HP-UX System Administrator's Guide: Overview

There are many well established applications, protocols, and networking technologies.
They work between multiple HP-UX operating systems, and between HP-UX and other
operating systems as well. Table 2-2 lists a few common networking technologies.
Table 2-2 Common Networking Technologies
Used For...Technology
Mounting remote file systemsNFS
Copying files between networked operating systemsftp, rcp
Securely copying files between networked operating systemssftp, scp
Logging into remote operating systemstelnet, rlogin, ssh
Web browser access to remote filesHTTP
Combining Virtualization Technologies
All of the HP virtualization technologies work together to give you even greater
flexibility.
For example, you can use WLM within a whole server that can be clustered in an HP
Serviceguard cluster, extended campus cluster, metropolitan cluster, or continental cluster
(high availability clusters of various geographical separation).
You can also use WLM on an Integrity VM host and within any individual Integrity
VM (guest). You can use WLM within nPartitions and virtual partitions as well as
across partitions. Many such combinations are possible.
